It all seemed like a great idea at the time, but now that we are faced with a whole pile of student loan debt, well, maybe we should have had a little more forethought, no? Well, let's not be too hard on ourselves, shall we? After all, we were mere babies at the time and we did not know any better. It all felt like free money at the time and we were going to get a really good job after we graduated, so we thought we would be able to afford to pay all of the student loan debt back and in short order.

What is wrong with the lenders?

To start with, they give money to people that do not have a job, no desire to get one, and no life experience. Is there something wrong with them - or are they on to something? Yeah folks, they make money when we cannot pay back quickly, that is why they are so willing to hand over the big bucks, they know that they will make it all back, and more! But, you can buck that system and take care of all your student loan debt sooner than you thought. There are a lot of programs out there for the taking and you can find out all about them. Many people start with student loan consolidation and then maybe even move to a consolidation loan, which will have a lower interest rate - so in the long run you end up paying less.

You did go to school and now you can boast an education, so do something smart and stop sitting on your debt like a dolt. Put those gears into full throttle mode, whatever that means - and do something that will make your parents proud! You might not have the dream job yet, but you can practice for it by taking more responsibility for your student loan debt. Then you can wake up tomorrow knowing that yesterday, at least, you did something productive!
